CELEBRATE ON THE MOUNTAIN

Weddings and Private Events at The Ridge

The Ridge hosts intimate weddings, elopements, proposals, anniversary dinners and small celebrations. The estate covers 40 acres on Sulphur Mountain, with views across Ventura County to the Pacific and our vineyard next door. We keep events limited, so each one stays private.

More from the same day: the full ceremony and the speeches.

The setting

• The house. The villa sleeps up to 10. The couple and close family usually stay at the house, and other guests stay in Ojai.
• The ceremony spot. A flat area just below the house looks out to the Pacific. It has been used for a wedding ceremony and works well for an outdoor dinner.
• The patios. An outdoor table for 12 sits beside the grill, with more seating around the house.
• The wine. Our estate wines are grown next door. We are glad to arrange a private tasting while you plan, and to help you choose bottles for the table.

How it works

1. Tell us your date, your guest count and what you have in mind.
2. Events are arranged separately from the villa stay. Please tell us about any event in advance: there is an additional event fee and a short event agreement.
3. Events need a stay of at least two nights.
4. Bring your own planner and vendors, or choose from the ones we recommend below.
5. Send us a certificate of insurance from each vendor at least 30 days before the event.

Good to know

• Amplified music ends at 10:00 PM. Sound carries a long way on the mountain.
• Guests who are not staying at the house leave by midnight.
• If wine is served, we ask that it be estate wine.
• For more than 50 guests, portable restrooms and an on-site coordinator are required, because the house is on a septic system. We strongly recommend valet parking.
• Tables cannot be set up in the vineyard.
• We have a few folding tables for small gatherings. Everything else comes from your rental company.
• No open flames or fireworks. The mountain is a high fire-risk zone.
