Mornings begin with coffee on the terrace while the light moves across the ridgeline. Hiking trails start at the front gate. A short bike ride brings you to English-style horseback riding lessons. Just up the road, our estate vineyard offers private, guided tours and curated wine tastings.

The villa
This spacious two-story home is designed for indoor-outdoor living, with generous common areas and multiple patios for gathering, lounging, and dining. Mediterranean in style with modern American touches, the estate offers four spacious bedrooms and comfortably sleeps up to ten guests. The bed configuration includes two king beds, one queen bed, and two twin beds in the bedrooms, plus a queen sleeper sofa located in the living room, which brings the total sleeping capacity to ten. Three fireplaces, in the living room, dining room, and primary bedroom, add warmth and comfort throughout the home.

Terrace Master Suite The primary bedroom includes an en-suite bathroom and opens to expansive vineyard and ocean views. It’s the most private room in the house and is paired with the home’s largest bath.
Courtyard Queen Bedroom This queen bedroom faces the mountains and the entry courtyard, offering a calm, grounded feel. It’s located on the first floor, with a full bathroom just next door.
Upstairs Loft Bedroom A large upstairs bedroom that feels close to a second primary. It includes a seating area with a coffee table and a separate work nook with a desk. This room shares two upstairs bathrooms with the Ocean Twin Room.
Ocean Twin Room
An upstairs bedroom with two twin beds and ocean-facing views. It shares the upstairs bathrooms with the Upstairs Loft Bedroom, making it a great setup for families or kids sharing space.

Upstairs Water Closet A separate second-floor bathroom with a toilet and small sink, shared by the same two upstairs bedrooms. It adds flexibility and privacy when the main shared bath is in use.
All bathrooms are stocked with fresh towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and a hair dryer for guest use.
Arrival Instructions
The villa is located on Sulphur Mountain above Ojai, about a 30–35 minute drive from downtown Ojai. Access is via a narrow mountain road with curves and elevation gain. Most of the route is paved, with a short unpaved stretch closer to the property that is maintained but rural in character. Standard passenger vehicles reach the property without difficulty in normal weather conditions, though we recommend arriving during daylight for a first visit. During periods of heavier rain, a vehicle with higher clearance or four-wheel drive may be more comfortable for the final stretch. Guests should be comfortable driving mountain roads.
This part of Upper Ojai is known for large private estates and long-established residential properties. The villa sits within a gated mountain area accessed through two private gates. The first gate provides entry to the residential ridge area, limited to residents and authorized renters. The second gate is the entrance to the 40-acre estate itself. Gate codes are provided prior to arrival.
The setting is intentionally private and remote. Many guests choose the property specifically for the quiet location and restricted access to this part of the mountain. The estate also includes a private helipad for guests arriving by air; advance coordination is required prior to arrival.
Remote countryside setting
This is a private vineyard estate in a natural hillside environment. The location is intentionally quiet and secluded, and it is different from staying in town or in a suburban neighborhood.
Evenings are very dark, services are not nearby, and guests should plan accordingly.
Wildlife notice
The home is located on a 40-acre rural vineyard property where wildlife is part of the environment. While the house is professionally maintained and serviced, keeping doors and garage areas closed when not in use helps prevent animals from entering, which can happen in countryside settings.
Weather conditions
During rain or fog, mountain driving conditions can change quickly. Vehicles with good traction are recommended in wet weather.
